Terms
What you can expect from Atlas University, and what it expects from you.
Last updated 2026-09-07.
This is a draft. What it says about how the platform handles your information is accurate. But the operating company, the governing law, a contact address and a minimum age have not been set, and no lawyer has reviewed it. Read it as a statement of intent rather than a contract until that changes.
What this is
Atlas University is a school. It publishes courses, lets anyone read them, and issues credentials to people who pass an examination on a course that a qualified expert has reviewed. It is operated by the operator of Atlas University.
What is free
Reading is free, without an account, without a trial and without a card. This is not an introductory offer and we do not intend to change it. Where a charge applies it will be for examination and certification, stated plainly before you commit to anything, and never retroactively applied to something you have already done.
Your account
- An account is yours alone. Do not share it. A credential is a statement about a person, and it means nothing if two people used the same login.
- Give a real email address and confirm it. We require that before a certification exam because a credential has to belong to someone reachable.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account until you tell us it has been compromised.
- You can close your account at any time from your account page. Closing it revokes any credential you hold, and that cannot be undone.
Examinations and credentials
- Sit your own exams. Do not copy answers, do not pass questions to anyone else, and do not use another person or a machine to answer for you. The tutor and Addie will not answer exam questions and cannot see them.
- Attempts may be limited and timed, and an exam may record signals about how it was taken. Where an attempt looks compromised it may be voided by a named instructor with a recorded reason.
- A credential can be revoked — if it was issued in error, if the attempt behind it was compromised, or if you close your account. Revoked and expired credentials say so at their verification address rather than disappearing quietly.
- A credential is a statement that you passed a particular assessment on a particular course on a particular day. It is not a licence, a degree, an accreditation, or a promise of employment.
What we do not promise
- That a course is complete or correct. Every course shows its review state before its first lesson. A course that has not been reviewed by a subject-matter expert says so, and you should not rely on it.
- That AI is right. The tutor, Addie and the other agents here can be wrong. They propose; people decide anything that matters. Nothing an agent says is advice you should act on without checking, and none of it is professional, legal, financial or medical advice.
- That the service is always available. We will keep it running and will not delete your work casually, but this is software.
- That a credential will get you a job. It gives an employer something they can verify. The rest is between you and them.
Writing in study groups
What you post is seen by the people who started that course the same week. Write things you would say to a colleague. An instructor can remove a post. Repeated abuse, harassment, or posting other people’s private information will cost you your account.
Teaching here
Instructors are invited or accepted after a person reads their application. Work you write or review for a course here may be published as part of that course and stays available to learners if you later stop teaching. Accepting, marking and publishing are named acts, recorded under the name of whoever performed them.
Employers
An employer with an account may assign courses to people by email address, and sees whether each person started, how far they got and whether a credential was earned. An employer never sees answers or scores. Assigning a course to someone does not create an entitlement to anything else about them, and an employer who assigns courses to people who have not agreed to it is misusing this service.
Content
Courses, lessons and assessments here belong to the operator of Atlas University or to whoever wrote them, and are not yours to republish. Your own writing stays yours; by posting it here you allow us to display it to the people it was written for.
Ending it
You can leave at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, most seriously for cheating on an examination, which undermines every credential this school has issued. Where we do, we will say why.
The legal part
The governing law for these terms has not been set. Until it is, this section is incomplete. Nothing here is intended to take away a right you have that cannot be signed away.
Questions about these terms go to the address published on this page once it is set. How we handle your information is described separately, on the privacy page.
This page is published in English only. Translating it would risk changing what it means, and what it means matters more than its convenience.
